Editor-In Chief Medical Humanities
I have always believed that medicine and storytelling belong together.

As Editor-in-Chief of Medical Humanities, an international journal jointly owned by the BMJ and Institute of Medical Ethics, I commission and curate work that challenges conventional narratives of health and illness. The journal brings the arts, humanities, and social sciences into direct conversation with medicine.

My role is to ensure the journal remains a space where diverse voices, critical ideas, and new ways of thinking can flourish—especially perspectives that don’t fit neatly into clinical guidelines or policy documents.
My hope is that the journal will help doctors make better decisions, and contribute to improved experiences of healthcare.
